If I was in charge of the world

Contributed by bigj on Monday, 14th May 2007 @ 08:02:06 AM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

Within this world, change is needed
For happiness and hope has greatly depleted
Due to the war and its religious hate
Peace is no longer, and doom is our fate

Fast we fall, and someone must take charge
Before all is lost when this world falls apart
If it was my fate, and I was chosen
I’d focus on the people who are confused and broken.

For the broken are crippled, losing all hope
And the confused are lost, disrupting the flow
But both are corruption that continuously spread
Manipulating the thoughts that dwell within our head

Ridding of the two allows restoration to take place
Creating a positive theme, building a much better base
Giving the hope to others, instead of bringing us down
Putting life in our dreams, ridding us of our frowns

Next would be tobacco, for it brings death to people
Watching my father slowly decay, had shown me of its evil
I’d take it away; no longer will it kill again
No more tears because of death, I wont allow it to begin

Not only tobacco, but deeper than products of man
Back to our attributes, when racism began
No more will our color or race be a reason to hate
For all men are equal, color isn’t a reason to desecrate

Changes are needed, as fast as they can come
For the downfall of man has already begun.

great poem xx especially like the last line
"for the downfall of man has already begun"
leaves a great thought for how the future will turn out!
