My Brain Fell Off Its Axis

Contributed by DaveXerox on Friday, 11th May 2007 @ 10:19:37 PM in AEST
Topic: psychoticpoems

A ball hit my head whilst I was sleeping in the park
So I plastered my brain to the bathroom wall
Green and purple elephants trampled my perception
How can I find enlightenment when I don’t know what I’m looking for?

Down the corridor of certainty I could see
A striking yellow t-shirt
Three high visibility jackets
And a small window of a meaningless conversation

So thinking aloud is a social faux pas?
My brain is ineffectual from a different angle?
So maybe you’re beginning to see that I deserved it?
The silence amongst the chaos was hollow?

So what if I asked you to define inhibitions?
To me they don’t seem all that bad after all
I don’t want you to think for a second that I blame you
The reflection in a distant mirror got my tongue

Quite a wonderful and very different write. As far as the topic itself I must admit it is either over my head or my brain is also on the bathroom wall. But even without knowing EXACTLY what I think you are saying I get a small gist and that's enough to know this is a great and vivid work. More than enjoyable to read the second, and third time around. Quite a gift for the absurd and the strange I might add, but when you got it you certainly gets it!

BRAVO!

Interesting poem, I enjoyed reading it.

Iespecially liked this line:
My brain is ineffectual from a different angle?
