Poor Me
Self pity is no excuse
You might as well go and tighten the gnus
Cry some more, do you think that will help
Go ahead feel sorry for your self
It could be worse you have your home
Look at your daughter and how she has grown
Go ahead and hate your life
Decide that you will never be a wife
Live your life thinking of the worst
Or maybe that you are cursed
Or you could grow up and take care of your self
You have family, friends willing to help
It’s time to stop berrying yourself in sorrow
Wake up and start a new tomorrow
You have a life you are responsible for
Now get of your ass and walk out that door
It’s up to you to change your life
Everyone has a bit of strife
Wipe the tears and dry your eyes
Tell your pity your last goodbyes
The sun has risen take control of your life
And someday you will be a wife
Successful, happy and consumed with joy
You don’t have to be so coy
Smile you’ve made the step you need
Smile because your are happy...indeed

The most wonderful essense of poetry other than expressing love is learning about who you are (the poet) and as for the reader seeing things in the lines that allow them to relate things to their life. A good job and I absolutely love this idea of writing to yourself, self reflecting poetry is always stunning! Not to mention it takes a strong vulnerable spirit to post such a topic. I love your proclamation and it screams poetry. Watch for typos. Wondeful job!
