The BBQ

Topic: FamilyPoems

Family BBQ's What fun they can all be
You invite your loving siblings your closest family ...
Of course your eldest sister's there, and the next one down in line
You invited too the youngest, my she's looking rather fine ...

You invite one of your nephews, cos the others are abroad
One declined the offer as he felt he'd just be bored
You invite your pretty niece too, with her new family
And you hardly recognise her when you see her, so long since she's been to see

You look upon your children as they talk and all enjoy
You smile at your pretty daughter looking pretty and all coy ..
You laugh at your brother in-law as misjudges his deckchair seat
Everyone falls about laughing as he stumbles on his feet

You survey your grand EMPIRE that you worked so hard to tidy
You started early Monday morn and finished late on friday
You smile within your heart of hearts as all sit and eat enjoy
Another success to remember Alas you smile with joy

But all to soon it's over, and time creeps up on all
You say goodbyes and kiss and hug " It really was a BALL"
Another year will pass again, until the next one comes
I wonder who will be tempted then, I wonder who'll succumb!
