Some days
My mirror mocks me
As I stand
Pinching my thighs
My stomach
My arms
"Not thin enough," it sneers
I know
Some days
My mirror stands
In silent disapproval
As I tease my hair
Apply my makeup
Dress and redress
"Not good enough," it hisses
I know
But some days
(my favourite days)
It's just a mirror
It's just glass
It's just my reflection
And I'm just me
And most days, that's enough
