dear mr president

Topic: political

Mirror mirror of the wall, who is the stupidest man of all,

It says, “George bush, did it really lie, look at his actions and it will tell you why

Mr. Bush, you make us hate you, you are extreme in your affairs, you offer us nothing, not even a share

Where is the love, and justice you promised to provide, to be that leader that’s supposed to guide?
Dear Mr. President, I have a confession to make, it won’t take long, so please take a break

As I make my case about you and your crew, to prove you’re a hypocrite, which ain’t new

When you started the war in Iraq, you gave us your reasons, you thought of some more, season after season

The war is taking longer than you promised, many lives are at stake, what you did was deceitful, making many mistakes’

First you said Saddam had weapons of mass destruction, so you destroyed in it pieces, now it needs construction

Then you said Saddam was planning to attack American soil, so you invade him first, expect us to remain loyal

But that it happening, we rather eat garbage, then follow your lead, you’re a man with no dignity, who’s filled with greed

You make us more distant every time you speak, no matter how you counsel us, your advice we won’t seek

We demand to be heard, we stand united and unshaken, our voices will keep shouting your name, as you keep taken

More lives in pursuit of a more free united states, while every other Muslim country remains your bait

In the 1980’s, America supported Saddam and funded his regime, and aided him against Iran, you became a team

Then you attack him because he attacked Kuwait, you found excuses to expose him, now he ain’t so great

You always claim you wanted to help his people escape his assaults, but the trade embargo you put on them, was your fathers fault,

Your intentions are known, your heart is inside out, for all over the world, we hear your big mouth

I would rather vote for a dog, than vote for you, for a dog has nothing to hide, but you do

You smile with dark colors resembling the true image of your face, it resembles your tyranny-you major disgrace

More Americans are in poverty, while hundred billions aid the war, stop abusing our taxes, or you wont get no more

Correct me if I’m wrong, and thank me if I’m right, stop judging with your emotions, for you have no might

If you wanted to help his people, then why did you wait so long, no matter what excuse you give us, we know your wrong,

Hundreds of thousand Iraqis died from the embargo, and you say you care, thousand more were in poverty, but you weren’t no where

Your devious behavior is really a shame, your popularity is dying, and so is your fame

When you die and crumble and get 6 feet under, I won’t shed a tear, or ever wonder

If your were human, or an animal in disguise, for your actions were anything but wise

I might be a threat, because I speak strong words, what happened to freedom of expression, will they be heard

Don’t think I’m through, I just started to speak, I’m a man who’s in pain, week after week

From seeing grotesque photos from my people in the east, while your out partying at every feast

You brag about accomplishments when their nothing but delusions, instilled in a repulsive mind who is a state of confusion

And abusing is your motto to make your pocket big, by hunting more oil, so you can start to dig

You are never content, and neither was your dad, two big failures for this country, made us real sad

What’s your next goal, to attack more Arab land, and abuse more tax dollars, while we need a helping hand?

You said once you seize Saddam, you will retreat from the war, but you lied again, just like before

If Saddam was so bad, why didn’t you invade him until after many years, while many of his people remained in tears?

What’s more degrading then a president we can’t trust, one who’s very insidious, who is never just

If you want to arrest me, just remember one thing, you can torture me like the rest, but you ain’t my king

Nor my creator who controls the heavens and the earth, no matter what you do to me, one day you’ll be in the dirt

And God will never forgive you for the injustices you’ve done, so pack up your bags and go see a nun,

So she can direct you to a priest to confess your crimes, because on the Day of Judgment God will give you no time

He doesn’t bargain with losers who transgressed all bounds, He won’t give you a chance to even make a sound

Bring home the troops; they have fallen in your trap, doing your dirty work while you take a nap

You are my enemy, so I better watch my back; I better play it cool, before you tell me to pack,

If you force me to join your crew, I would reject your crew, would rather die in prison, than serve you too

You give the KKK a national holiday to curse people of all races, but if a Muslim condemns your acts of aggression, than you get on their cases

Paul Finley, Jimmy Carter, and many more have realized your scheme, while many others are awakening from their dream

A dream of a country which was known for courage and bravery, but really it was stolen and used for slavery,

No doubt, Americans are immersed with tension, waiting for their pension, while every other day, more programs are in need of an extension,

You say between America and the east is a major distinction, that’s because you want to put us into extinction.

More American families are upset, from losing families over seas, the only thing is left is for you to get down on your knees,

To beg for their forgiveness, but you were never that humble, it won’t be too long before one day you tumble

So enough of this crap, were tired of being in denial, from all this chaos that’s lasting a while
What do we want, peace, not for a day, but for ever and longer, so let’s take one step to make this country stronger

Stronger in love and stronger in actions, for too many people are split up in factions
We don’t need more rules; you ain’t God in disguise, just start thinking with your heart, and let’s improvise
Peace, not war, is the road to perfection; we need to establish it before next election

You have more than a few typos in here but no matter, the message is strong and bold. I echo your feelings of Mr.Bush. He's not my president, I didn't and wouldn't have voted for such a devious, sick individual. I read this morning where 9 soldiers died in Iraq this morning. Bush is wanting to send in several thousand more troops over the summer. I am sickened by the death and the destruction. This country always thinks it should stick it's big damn moral nose in everyone else's business. Where were we when children were dying of hunger by the thousands in Africa? We only care about folks when there is something for our country to gain. What a damn shame.
Thanks for sharing.
Peace, Laura

You're seriously misinformed. But that's political poetry for you - an oxymoron at best, and the only good politics (another one, possibly) is hard sense, which doesn't translate well to verse.

As a reality check, though, do you really think that because you "wrote some poems" your email address needs to be shared? As if some new subversive movement will begin? This has been done before, my friend, so many times, but in the end anti-Bush 'poetry' accomplishes nothing - it's far too dogmatic to convince anyone, and amens from like-minded people will do nothing for you. If you want to make a difference rather than just complain, get out there, research some things, independent of what the news wants to tell you or withhold from you, and start talking to people. Use reason, not hyperbolic zing-speech. It accomplishes nothing, and gets in the way of those of us who're striving after that quiet, all-elusive beauty and power that lies within really good verse. I'm sure you want to apprehend some of that, too, so mayhap give up the worn-out soapbox and cease the dogmatism, and listen for things that are bigger than yourself.

Just a thought.

Andrew
