Silent Lambs

Contributed by needledancing on Sunday, 29th April 2007 @ 12:31:40 AM in AEST
Topic: Grief

A simple silent moment passes by
A watering of vision to my eye.
An old familiar pain
Seen once and now again
Then the ash of fires burning blown away.

In a saddened quiet place.
Men who wept now show their face.
They are helpless to the violence of a heart.
An unconcealed attack right from the start.

We shall now feel every name.
He will bare it with its shame.
As the gunman spills the blood of those we love.
May the mercy of his soul be thrust above?

Very well written. It saddens me how humans treat one another. What in the world, sets someone off in such a way? I cry for the innocents lost in this world of hatred.
Peace and hugs,
Laura

btw: the photo was very cool

It's hard to say which forces or reasons make (get) a ordinary man in an assassin. Very good poem. Thank you.

ND, I adore the title. It's heartbreaking, but what
follows is just as so. Terribly tragic. The whole
nightmare is just so hard to accept.

You have transformed a sentiment of confusion
and disbelief into a grippingly emotional write.
And beautifully so.

It has been a tradgic moment for the whole. How can we get stuck inside our heads with the subject so keen to hatred. I'm sure he hated his life (he had to.) it's just sad he would let anyone in, and he had to take so many with him.
I don't know what I think of him, but my prayers are with the families and victims.
All I know is when I was watching the news I thought I wish he would of lived, for at least a year or so, to feel the reprecoussions of his selfishness.
Great write, but it will be forever before the sadness leaves.

My friend you have penned a very sad and tragic incident tearfully beautiful.
The gunman is a monstrous creation of our own self-centered society, and that we must not forget.

There has been far to much of this happen this year several already and counting. What in the world is going on? I question it each day. THis brought tears to my eyes. A world so cruel and cold it seems at times. Showing the reality of our human condition and the sting and aftermath of each of us not treating others kindly. Very sad, Thanks for writing and sharing in your talented way.
