She sits quietly at the gazing pool
Reflections on the water so painful to bare
She wraps snowy wings 'round her chilled body
As a gentle breeze tosses her silvery hair
Unnoticed by her is her perch
Made of cold and unforgiving stone
She's hypnotized by the visions on the water
Which make her feel vulnerable and alone
For each scene that plays across the waters surface
Is a glimpse into the present and the past
She's struggling valiantly to maintain hope
But against these images, that hope won't last
Concentration camps and racial cleansing
Brought to life by a twisted soul
This reflection causes her great distress
For humanity paid a heavy toll
The plague of AIDS across Africa
The number of children who will die
This scene causes her intense sorrow
And she blinks a tear from her eye
Depiction's of burning towers in September
The bombing and terror in Bali
She tastes mans confusion, hatred and pain
Fueled by retribution, they start to rally
Starvation for the poor in Asia
She sees thin bodies and hungry eyes
Wrapping her wings 'round herself tighter
She lowers her head to her hands and cries
Humanities hatred for one another
Is clear on the water to see
Citing cultural beliefs, each side feeling superior
They reject the Angels agonized silent plea
The trees surrounding the gazing pool
Begin to sway and creak with the wind
They whisper to the Angel of a secret
That humanity will continue to sin
Far off in the distance
A quiet call from her Father is heard
"Come now, my child - there is much to be done."
She now walks the earth to spread His word
In the quiet shadows of the forrest
Seated on the bench by the gazing pool
Forrest creatures and woodland nymphs watch in wonder
The reflection of the future is being changed by Gods tool.
