Roses Of Love

Contributed by Amaterian_Angel on Friday, 27th April 2007 @ 12:01:40 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

Roses are red and violets are blue
What is love? Do I love you?
Roses of red with thorns so sharp.
A symbol of beauty, a symbol of love?

Lovers have flaws
And we have our tiffs
But love holds us close
And prevents a rift.
The thorns of the rose
Though sharp and cruel
Compliment the flower
As a balancing tool.

With it’s scent so sweet
And it’s petals so fine
It’s delicate shape
Of petals entwined.
Our love is sweet
Our loves is fine
So delicate our love
With our minds entwined.

So with roses of red, we’ll never be blue
Because you love me and I love you.
Roses of red my flower beloved
A symbol of beauty, a symbol of love.

beautifull write..i love the way you used the old classic roses are red and violets are blue to express what you had to say...and i simply love when a flower is used as an analogy...i have done that as well..in a different kind of way..but yours is so much better..mine was called "flowers of a different hue." nicely done..absolutely loved it.

Roses are my favorite flower, I never tire of their beauty and I respect the thorn....

I also never tire from reading beautiful and talented poems with the rose in it. You compared love and roses to thorns with great talent and ease. A flowing beauty this is. I would even say it is fragrant.*smiles*
