One Tree

Contributed by deadheadpoet on Friday, 27th April 2007 @ 01:14:06 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

It seems to have become so much
So very heavy of a burden to bear
I try not to let it weigh heavy on me
Yes, I try not to show I care

Each morn I try and wake with a smile
I make an attempt to forget the pain
But like a hot iron in the fire
These woes seem branded in my brain

I oft wonder how much one can take
As they muddle through a life
Numerous slaps in the face
Can cause a tad bit of strife

A couple of lives have already been lived
A couple of lives have died
I thought I'd give up on living
But once again I tried

It could not have been in vain
No it really couldn't be
No one has touched my life like you
We are roots deeply entwined...we are one tree

Sis I so loved the picture and this poem well it speaks beyond my words, I feel it and it reaches out to me. Thus painting many emotions I clearly understand. You are such a beautiful woman and I am honored to call you friend and sister.......

love ya tons
huge hugs

always know though distant we are in miles you are but a thought away and I hold you each day tucked near my heart.

Michelle

The poem is a nice living piece, it describes a continuous process of hardships which the poetess has gone through, it shows the loss of faith in life and again regained by the poetess, the life is one but we live through it with many lives and deaths. The poetess presented a matchless imagery that she and her lover are entwined roots like and inseparable entities. Language is simple but there is a poetic flow; please see the line
"So very heavy of a burden to bare"
isn't it
"So very heavy of a burden to bear'
Love and respects,
Muhammad Shanazar

Damn girl!! This was EXCEPTIONAL!!! It screams of a devotion
and strength and LOVE outlasting the all of everything!!!! I love that.
I SO love that, sis.

The whole piece is brilliant but I truly adored the last stanza. WOW!
What a declaration .. affirmation ... statement of pure and clean
CONVICTION! You are one of the most incredible people I know,
sis, and I am so happy to call you a friend and true kindred spirit.

Your words never cease to amaze, delight and capture this heart--
sentiments very akin to my very own.

Beautiful ~

(especially that last line!! just, WOWEE!!!)

~MG
