That dream is shattered
Where will you go now?
Where do those winding paths lead?
Traversing the vast and endless expanse
Of nothingness and despair
Only the bitterness of the truth awaits.
That dream is shattered
How will you find yourself again?
How does life fall in place?
All those thoughts and fancies harboured
Remain as dreams alone
They are not translated into reality.
That dream is shattered
Who will you go to now?
Who will reach out ― pull you out of these depths?
There is no one to turn to
In misery, you are alone
And loneliness will firmly grasp the living soul.
That dream is shattered
The broken fragments lost to the inexperienced eye
Not a chance of recovery
Not a whisper of new hope
The conflict between expectations and aspirations
Makes you plummet further ― you bleed to drown it all.

| I can relate to your poem, I have had dreams shattered but just have to go onto the next dream and fight back, the world has a lot to offer you just have to keep looking forward and hoping your dreams become reality.. great poem xxxxx |

a very powerful and sad piece. alot of us here can relate to this piece at one point or another in our lives. its sad when dreams are shattered and we have to face the truth of things. a very well written piece
