The Gaffe.

Contributed by FRANCO on Monday, 23rd April 2007 @ 10:12:10 PM in AEST
Topic: toughstuff

Once so notorious when youthful
blood gushed, life was nothing but
joyous rush, ecstatic world’s glitter,
glory ‘n’ fame in redundant
blinded by the game - swam in an ocean
of lust and pleasure aided by riches.

Wine, dine and pretty women
at every lane - you bet, life was
nothing less then a speeding plane.
Lo, what goes up comes down
that is for a dimwit to predict,
life crashed like a ripe melon.

Drenched in appalling venereal
pain; rested his weary head
in a gloomy pit on a stinking bed
hiding from his very own shade
set for an inward tour on a quest, to
probe what went so wrong?

Repenting hearts’ dripping tears
cleansed body and soul
now that he is old, this ill fate
is not a stigma he was told
folks like him gather up and walked the
remaining last phase in peace ‘n’ sanity.

Learned the meaning of life at his ripe; clasped to his life’s
last fold as though it‘s a precious coin of gold.
-FRANCO-

my gosh, Franco .. this is very enlightening.

I love how you took a poetic approach to offer a view on learning to
late the reality of a life not used to it's full potential. There is nothing
wrong with seeking a pleasure or two from life, but superficial
gravitation usually leaves us quite empty. And it is sad that so
many find out too late.

Very thought provoking read, Franco.

Bravo poet!

interesting peice of work...leaves the reader thinking about the little things they can take forgranted, and asking themselves if their living there lives to their potential..or if their just throwing it all away...nicely done..

dear poet friend you have penned a very thought provoking piece of poetry here.

are they wasting it and letting it slip on by~
