Strange Love
It’s really strange
The way I feel
I really love you
But I know it’s not real
You’re just perfect
The way I made you
Out of thin air
A character in few
You were there in all
My best selling books
You were a brave woman
Who caught all the crooks
Those green eyes
The slight blush on you face
You were happy yet sad
But you never showed a trace
You’re all out of love
Because I have created you such
I could create a perfect love for you
But the jealousy would hurt me much
Only if you were existent
Then we could be together
Free and in love
Feeling as light as a feather
But you’re only a character
Created in my mind
And when I die
I will leave everything behind
Those fake memories
Of spending the time with you
I will write down all of them
And leave them for you
Maybe if ever you decide
To come out of those books one day
I wouldn’t be there with you
But my memories will be there to stay
Maybe someday you’ll be there
So then, I could love you
And not just as a fictional character
But a person who’s true

I really enjoyed reading this poem. The subject is so unusual and reminiscent of the Pygmalion myth. Keep up the good work! |
