Somewhere between there and my trusted routine life lends a detour,
a welcome distraction feathered my sense of being, as
birds and butterflies held captive my reality
A familiar aroma steam from the streets now spatter with morning showers
as puddles surrender reflection of the now convert.
My ears scorch from the roars babies and hungry men cries,
and I drop a coin in the old man’s hat and cradle my conscience.
Hungry eyes shoulders my focus, as children skip across playful streets
and disappears beyond the evening shadows
And so tomorrow I tread this very path, for I want
to be distracted.

A well written and very discriptive work. In order to get in touch with the best of humanity we need to be distracted. Otherwise we are simply zombies. Well done, poet!
BRAVO!

Your poetry has such a personal feel to it,I'm walking with you and seeing what you are seeing in the way you express yourself, and this one is like you tapping me on the shoulders and saying come and see the world like I am seeing it. |
