Only a Moment

Contributed by kims4ever on Saturday, 21st April 2007 @ 12:52:24 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

A pause in the moment, with nothing to gain.
A break in momentum, with noone to blame.
Taken from many, but given to few.
A heart so fragile, if only you knew.
A tear falls in sorrow, from ripples to waves.
To wash over a soul, so very full of pain.
Crazed from fury, silenced by pride.
If only you knew how it burns inside.
Funny to some, a tragedy to most.
Imagine a death, involving a toast.
Celebrate the now, though all is lost.
Give everything you have, if only to pause.
I understand nothing, but know it all it seems.
From conquering the world, to shattered dreams.
So what else can you take from me?
My heart is gone, I have no soul, you have torn away my wings.
I am long winded, but my conviction is true.
I suffer more each passing day, if only to bring happiness to you.
Better to have loved and lost, then not have loved at all.
This saying is fake, completely false, you know this if your heart has ever called.
Given a chance like so many, allowed inside this shell.
Only to find you cannot see below the surface as well.
If only a breeze, a gust of faith could brush your porcelain cheek.
If only you knew, for once in your life, that you wasted every ounce of me.
I love you still as true as ever, though you were never here.
Why you left me so you could be unhappy is still to me unclear.
Though a rhyme is tedious, acceptable at best.
Tell me once, just one time, to put my heart at rest.

beautiful write..though sad. nicely done. loved it. sad writting seems to be the theme for most lately...pain...loss..tears...and scars...are these negative things the only thing life brings these days? i wonder..since my writting is also stemed around sadness..and pain...
