Arsty Fartsy

Contributed by needledancing on Wednesday, 18th April 2007 @ 10:00:11 AM in AEST
Topic: HumorPoetry

He smiles and tilts his head, my heart goes silly jiggers.
He amuses me with jokes, his childlike stories of Tiggers.
He’s my childhood friend who brings me up to best that I can see.
The five year old I was, when he was only three.

This younger man does make me be the "Yuk Yuk" comedian.
He pulls from me a humor that is bonded from a friend.
We haven’t yet recorded some, the best of many acts.
I tell you now the comedy he breeds in me is facts.

Should I hit the stage and actually perform,
No one would really judge me sane or say I was "the norm."
We keep it silent just for now to be a couple of taste.
As time goes by the selfish hoard it seems a dreadful waste.

One day I’ll gain the courage to make the others laugh,
I haven’t got the budget and don’t yet trust the staff.
"Yuk Yuk" will just have to wait my ultimate arrival.
I’m busy being serious, I need to think survival.

Great write, I hope one day to see you up there, you always say the right things, and I'm sure you would love to entertain, just image all the laughter and joy.

Life's alotment is only so long and then it is gone. What ever skills you posess use them before they become useless. What i'd give to be young again and making use of mine. A
poem of true revealation, go for it while the going is good and the tide is high. Good luck ND.

Wonderful write ND! I think you are one step closer to gaining that courage, and hopefully you will enjoy it. You certainly put a smile on my face with this work. A great job, wonderfully light hearted with a touch of that dreaded realism. Laughter is more important than we allow ourselves to believe. Is it really a survival instinct to always be serious? I think laughter is something more essential to survival. Smile, it makes you young! Great job! Good luck with everything, entertainer!

BRAVO!

ND, wow! lol

Humour is indeed a wonderful medicine and your poem illustrates
a natural tendency towards playful jocularity. What fun, poet!!

Hoping you find the "courage" you need to share your wonder
with the masses .. ; )
