Tear Drops

Contributed by Willofree on Tuesday, 17th April 2007 @ 01:48:34 PM in AEST
Topic: Grief

I watched your form disappear from view...
Launched upon your final journey,
gone from me, never to return.

It hurt too much, not to show...
Everyone says you are in a better place,
but it's too hard to let you go.

I chased the tears down my cheek...
But I could not stop the flow,
a lake of tears formed at my feet.

Drowning in my sorrow and grief...
My footprints left a trail
that led to my broken heart.

All those things buried with my departed...
All my secrets forever left unsaid.
Oh Lord, what anguish it makes me feel.

What I would give for one last chance...
One final word, smile or touch,
a final goodbye, with everything said.

I still hear your whispers within...
"I still love you."
"Remember, I am only a thought or memory away!"

... so finally ... he begins to play with font and boldness ...

Yay Terry, a celebration is in order not just for the imortalized mem'ries of another ... but the methodology with which you have done so ... many memorable lines and I must say ... you formatted it to perfection ... I'd put it very near the top of my favorites by you.

Terry, Good to see you posting again. "Tear Drops" was a great title, for I felt them welling up in my eyes with this read. Powerful piece, my friend.
Peace and hugs,
Laura

Wil ... this was so completely heart-wrenching, and
yet touching all at once. You captured the heartbreak of
losing someone dear, and all the emotions that go through
our being with the thought that never again shall we be
able to talk with, walk with or show them how much they
have meant to us.

Beautifully painful, my friend.
