If I say the words perhaps they will fall
like dead leaves to the ground
If I say that your smile is like the
golden sunrise perhaps you'll frown.
If I dare to take your hand in mine
maybe you'll cast it away.
I'll take whatever chance there is
to make you always mine.
What carest I for rebuke when the reward is so great?
What carest I when my world is at stake?
How can I live without you in this world?
Is there any purpose for my days without you?
Don’t reject me and cast me away like an old shoe.
Don’t speak the words I dread to hear.
Don’t turn your back on me and take your leave.
These are the things that rent my heart and cause me pain.
You are the sun, moon and stars to me.
If ever I continue to draw breath and live,
I must have you and pour out my love.
Without you I am a hollow man good for nothing.

Very sweet and emotional. Its good that you're not letting your fear of rejection make you give up. Love is something thats worth the risk, worth the uncertainty, and worth the pain it may cause. And yes, without love we all would be hollow inside. |

I liked the uncertainty in this, you have these feelings and thoughts about your loved one, but you worry that they will take them amiss, 'If I say that your smile is like the
golden sunrise perhaps you'll frown.'
An enjoyable read, I particularly liked the first and last stanzas.
