Lo! An enormous octopus,
Floats, budges into the ocean of time,
From the west to the east,
And from the north to the south,
Freely moves with no fear or fright
Of the opposing, contesting force,
Scares the creatures dwelling around,
They scamper as it encroaches,
With tentacles lashing like a thick rope.
It rests nowhere but on the round rock,
Taking in firm grip its whole rotundity,
Sometime it jerks and wriggles,
To get itself released and uncatched.
Lo! What is the monster with ajar mouth,
Equipped with thousands of fearful teeth,
Advances to the resting octopus.
Lo! It clips and snips apart the extended arms,
And now the inner, middle piece wallows,
On the oscillating, undulating waves;
And around the limbless swollen corpse,
Only lament, grieve over its plight,
A shark of hunger and a turtle of curse.
