Though the blood travels through
No driving force can be found
There’s nothing there that she can feel
No beating pulse, no not a sound
And you know you’ve nothing left to lose
You’re aware of the petals she’s pulled just to feel you
“You’re nothing but bones,” she said
Nothing but bones
“You’re nothing but bones,” she said
He’s nothing oh he’s nothing but bones
The anatomy of his thought and frame
An enigma she cannot solve
And though his eyes resemble the sky
The clouds there will not dissolve
And you know you’ll feel forced to choose
And unlike you, she has everything to lose
“You’re nothing but bones,” she said
Nothing but bones
“You’re nothing but bones,” she said
He’s nothing oh he’s nothing but bones
He’ll bow and tip his hat to greet you
His cane will rap the ground beneath you
He’ll dance in circles around you
As you pull the petals to the sound
Of bones tapping on the ground
“You’re nothing but bones,” she said
