Truly Happy

Contributed by Gigi_15 on Friday, 6th April 2007 @ 09:29:54 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

All this time she saw everything differently
She was caught up in his words completely
This young woman didn't see his wrongs
She didn't see his flaws
She only saw how they belonged

While he wasn't who she thought he was
This young man was covered with a mask
This was the reason she turned to her flask
And yet she didn't discover his purpose
With time all the questions bottled up inside
Because of all the times he denied

Did he even ever love her?
Did he mean those words at the altar?
If there is no meaning to his unfaithfulness
Then why does he commit to it?

If she isn't what he's looking for
If she isn't what he adores
His image of perfection
Then why is he keeping her?

Why is he still hiding behind his mask?
Why if he so afraid?
If only his image could fade
But he will forever remain in her heart

Little by little she came to understand
Even though she doesn't see his reasons
Though this hurts her more than anything else
At least he's happy with them
Even if it means that it isn't with her
She's truly happy
No matter how incomprehensible it may be
