The beat of a completely different drum
While ghosts fly by in cable cars
telling stories of a time long gone.
A sunny summer day with an ocean chill
A walk up and down the Haight
and I dance to music from a passing car.
The salty smell of Chinatown
A shop on the pier, a chocolate dream
a spirit all its own.
Losing myself on city streets
Only to find my way to sleep
and feel like I belong.
