Urban Crisis

A jaded sandwich staggers
down the sidewalk
Searching for the time and place
where
The Main St. Fire hydrant melted
into
a marauding blob of marshmallow,
engulfing
the city in a mire of confectionary
despair.
Oh, to empathize with those
imprisoned
between two pieces of spongy white
bread,
in the cigars of the human
soul.
