They brought a stranger here today
Disheveled, bloodied, but eyes ablaze,
On this small hill at Calvary
They nailed him up upon a tree.
Between we two convicted thieves
They stood him there for all to see,
From tortured hands so pierced with nails
Blood trickled down oér body frail.
The party crowd all laughed and jeered
His mother shed a well of tears,
The drunken soldiers laughed with pride
Then plunged a sword into his side.
I cried aloud; what has he done
They called; he claims he is Gods son,
I asked; is this true what they say?
Believe he said; come home today.
I saw one scurry through the crowd
Head bowed within his shameful shroud,
I heard some murmur; he did this
Delivered with a traitors kiss.
Thirty sheckles placed in his hand
To deliver up the son of man,
For once in my retched life I prayed
Please God let this good man be saved.
From deep within an uttered moan
Forgive them father; i heard him moan,
This task you set will soon be done
And I'll be home with another son.
And then he turned and smiled at me
The heavenly father has set you free,
Paradise for you is found
close your eyes; you're homeward bound.

I liked this a lot very accurate. I am a Christian, but do not consider myself 'religious'. I dont usually read Religious Poetry or w/e its called, but this was excellent. Keep on writing.
