Crying in a crib, memories to forgive,
A vision rolls up a survival to live.
No gentle arms of comfort found there.
Tiny eyes peering heartaches of despair.
What could she do only five more than I?
Fear for the little girl watching her cry.
Love in the tiny soul being misplaced,
Tortured cries, hungry face.
Can’t reach in to comfort me,
Bars of neglect now shelter thee.
So many so fast seeds planted in haste,
Love spent chasing the jobless waste.
Needs take over in bottled bliss,
Arms that should hold severed and missed.
Lost in battle souls shattered to dust,
Brains swim in wine, souls lacking trust.
To artificial hearts and places be gone,
Scattered nest babies eventually won.

so many have to live with this, although not usually with 5 siblings, alcohol leads in the cause of family destruction. I'm glad the babies survived past the grip of a sad reality.
you make a very vivid statement, sad but real.
great write Miss Needledancing |

Oh ND this broke my heart to read. So tragically true alot of families face this sort of problem. Alcoholism tears families apart, but I'm so glad to hear in your families case that all the siblings made it through this terrible time okay.
A real eye opening write of what effects alcoholism can have on families.
Very well written in every detail.
hugs and prayers,

A very sad and heart crunching poem. My friends it is a sneak-preview behind many closed doors of families. helplessness, lovelessness, fear and "Needs take over in bottled bliss,"
It is a precious poem indeed.

ND, my dearest friend. I have no words that could ever
possibly dispell the pain these words evoke.
You have bravely penned your very soul, hun and I, for one,
admire and respect you so very much for that. 'Tis
sad that children have to suffer at the misguidance and
weakness of the adults that should know better ...
lets just say, I understand ~
*hugs you tight*

(for the record, I think this was exceptionally written .. one
of your best, for sure! : ) )

Woo, my friend. This is heart wrenching and sad. After all that pain an angle turned it to joy.
That last line is my favorite.
Awesome!
big huggs, luv, smiles,

I've seen things like this happen
before. It is heartbreaking just to
watch and I can't imagine how much
more so it must be to be inside the
event. Your writing is excellent.

What an absolutely enthralling piece. One that says so much more than the obvious theme and subject. A very detailed and quite cleverly plotted work. One I will be disecting more soon on my own and great read.
BRAVO!
