Robin, with the first time our eyes met; love that came
pouring into this man's callous heart was no safe bet.
Not able to help myself. I became a flirt and a pest;
you were forgiving, knowing that you brought out my best.
I needed those gentle moments and you did too;
in my mind forever, your smile, as we bid adeau.
No matter the hell I suffered each day;
your loving spirit, made the affliction go away.
Thoughts of you inspired poem, song and book;
but others saw my feelings for you and my intentions they mistook.
Like no other woman, with you, I wanted to be close;
with mindless meddling of others, that door remained closed.
In my life there is only one other to whom you compare;
but that powerful feeling generated, you were unaware.
She left me when a drunk driver struck her from the rear;
you quietly snuck away, so you could follow your career.
I tried to wish you well my friend, with a card;
my boss and your step dad, couldn't give it to you,as if too hard.
Even if it is not possible for us to be together;
my wishes and prayers, fall upon you like feathers.
