To honour St Cuthbert
To visit
Such a holy place
With its history
In your hand
It’s really very special
Feeling really grand
From the year 634
The year
That he was born
Throughout the years
Of his Life
The miracles
He performed
He became the Bishop
Of Lindisfarne where
He died in 687
In the year of 999
To Durham
He did travel
In the year of 1104
His casket
Was re-opened
417 years
Had passed, still
Smelling sweetly
And uncorrupted
Behind the altar
In Durham Cathedral
Lies the body of
St Cuthbert
