A Thrall Halo

Contributed by weepingprophet on Friday, 30th March 2007 @ 03:42:21 PM in AEST
Topic: dedicatedpoems

I have felt for something in the darkness
Rather unaware
I have held my breath till I've passed out
And did not wish for air

Believe the glossy eyed truth
My darling, my love
I have not been myself
Perhaps a gift from above

Instead of feeling anything
Through my own hands
I have felt through and for others
Such insatiable demands

Screaming through a muzzle
Never truly being heard
Searching for the letters
To form a non existent word

Claustrophobia sets in
as I struggle on
Clawing for an escape
A way to face the dawn

I'm still reaching in the darkness
hoping to feel
Holding my breath
until the reveal

All I am
locked inside someone else
until
until

Hope begins to wish for air
I flee from the darkness
Suddenly aware
That fear has left me bound
In the muzzle of false control
Realization is where I'll be found
And acceptance shall make me whole

Control:to exercise restraint or direction over; dominate; command
And what is "control" without "power"???
Power:the possession of CONTROL or command over others
or perhaps they are the same.....

This piece is a reminder of my past..I was controlled by anothers expectations of me to the point I lost myself..when I grew lonely enough to get myself back I broke out of captivity and now I have the wings of freedom..and no one shall capture or control me again...This piece was a very special reminder of how I value my free mind and space. Thanks

we are so painstakingly broken, aren't we?

never mind, we can perhaps make each other whole.

much appreciated,

Ava.
