I sit up high,
And look at the sky,
As the sun sets
on the horizon.
Over the garage
on the shingles,
I sit and watch
the world go by.
I spread the wings,
this place of mine brings,
And dream of the birds,
Flying so high.
Up here is quiet,
Away from the riots,
On the news and in my home.
Up here I can be alone.
I stand on the edge,
And take my pledge,
As my emotions
overtake me.
I spread the wings,
this haven brings,
and quickly fall,
Losing it all.
They say keep away,
and so everyday,
I go by just to
dream again.
Oh, how I cry,
As my dreams die,
When I look up high,
And realize I'll never fly.
