My Friends

Contributed by sir_odd87 on Sunday, 25th March 2007 @ 10:24:44 PM in AEST
Topic: Tributes

My friends are like my family
Brothers and sisters I never had
They were there when I needed them most
And for that, I can't help but be glad.

My friends are large in number
And larger still at heart
I'm not looking forward to two years from now
When we all must finally part.

I'll miss the time I've spent with them
The movies, jokes, and games
If I hadn't met any one of them
I know I'd never have been the same.

Mike Humphrey, Cameron and Ryan
Are like brothers to me
Varied interests and backgrounds
But that doesn't disturb the analogy

Sara Dainty, Anna and Nikki
Who are much easier on the eyes
Are as supportive and kind
As the rest of those other guys.

Amanda, Drew, Steve, Sarah,
Kristin, Laura, Sarah Starr and others
You've all been better than siblings to me
Closer than blood brothers.

Then there are Sam and John Ladd
Who have done so much for me
That there's no way I can repay them
At least none that I can see.

I have many friends at college
More than I have time to see
But I thank the stars everyday
To have sent them all to me.

I know I tell a lot of jokes
I'm a very funny guy
And you all know that I won't let myself
Just break down and cry.

You all know what happened
In December when I was left alone
And each of you all stepped in
And lifted off that heavy stone.

You gave me time to be myself
Left to my own devices
You didn't force me to listen
To all your varied advices.

You all knew how weak I was
I couldn't rise from my dark seat
But thanks to the help I've had from you
I'm standing on my feet.

There's nothing I can say in words
To repay my heavy debt
So I'll just stay here with you guys
Because it's not over yet.

Thank you all, so much.

Blessings to you and your wonderful friends.
I, like yourself was going through quite a bit
over the last few months. With the help, love
and support of my closest friends, one
in particular I was able to get back on my feet again. Spread your wings and fly my friend.
May what burdened your heart never come
back unto you ever again. Here's to good
friends. Cheers.
many hugs,
Sue M
