Cowgirl wants a Shoot Out!

Contributed by needledancing on Friday, 23rd March 2007 @ 09:48:29 PM in AEST
Topic: dedicatedpoems

Chorus…
I suppose I could make that cowboy run
If I track him down and shoot him with my gun
I’ll cut him down to size
Then he won’t be silly wise
I suppose I could make that cowboy run.

He done liquored me up pretty good and fine
Then fed me his silly tough guy line
Bout how he roped a bronc in seconds to record
His trumped up version I can not afford.

Chorus….

Then he bed me with his cleaned up silly face
Told me bout the ranch that’d be My Place
Well I swallered it all whole
Hook, line sinker fishing pole
Now he’s nowhere to be finding anywhere.

Chorus….

I will hunt him down and do just what I said
I’ll take that gun and shoot him silly dead
He just can’t do that to me
I will never let it be
Cause my pa told me to pass this feller bye.

Chorus

If you have a string or banjo sitting bye
Record this story bout my cowboy guy
He did tear apart my heart
Hear the words your song shall start
Bout the cowboy that I’m headin to shoot down
