My Impossible Love

Contributed by CowgirlKid on Tuesday, 25th February 2003 @ 05:40:00 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

My love for thee can be but read,
But read but not understood,
For no one understands my love
And no one ever should.

My love for thee can be but heard,
But heard but not understood,
My love has whispered to thee loved
Not another heard- ever should.

My love for thee can be but wrote,
But wrote but not understood,
'Tis written 'moungst a million words,
No one else could read nor should.

My love for thee can be but understood
Not ever or ever could
My love for thee's unexplainable
And explain to no one I could.

My love for thee is written here
But not even thee has understood,
For when thee understands no sense
My love is understood.

What a wonderful poem and such a mysterious thought! I've never thought of it that way, but I believe you are right.
