For even mercury
is sewn to units.
Each point
weightless,
inane.
Dysfunctional meter,
-idle.
What significance do you occupy
when you stand on your own?
A fallow orchard of sorts.
Parched, motherless, land
like a foetus
without a host.
We are Godless,
and we belong to the ashes
that made us,
just as our shadows belong to
ourselves.

I really liked this, for reasons that I can't coherently identify. I guess it just appealed to me and I like all the abstract concepts and images.

Strong, very outspokenly said.
I concur, yet not to every word, although that means nothing. you have the strength to deliever a message from you, and how this looks, you are good at it.
Keep writing we love to read

A delivered crystal to the core of my being. Passed illusion and disillusionment and all things mystified this piece arrives at the cold naked truth:
"...We are Godless,
and we belong to the ashes
that made us,
just as our shadows belong to
ourselves."
Amazing
Peace
