Why I Try

Contributed by MichelleVan on Wednesday, 21st March 2007 @ 01:12:11 PM in AEST
Topic: FamilyPoems

I call to speak with you, you say tell her I’m not home,
I send you messages that return, receiver unknown.

To live so far away, there’s so much I don’t get to see,
I wonder if you know what it feels like to be me.

I don’t want to be someone you dread coming around,
I just want to be told of the all the things your life has found.

I don’t mean to meddle and I don’t mean to pry,
But when I hear the tone in your voice when I call, I hang up and cry.

It wasn’t Gods plan for me to have children of my own,
I wonder if he knew, I would feel so all alone.
.
But if I had a choice, I would choose no other,
In truth my only destiny, was to become a mother.

So, maybe next time I call, and you pick up the phone,
You might be a little kinder and change that awful tone.

And let me be someone you turn to, if you ever need advice
Because I’ve been there, and know sometimes life isn’t nice.

I’m not trying be your Mom, that I wouldn’t dare,
Just know that I’ll always be here, and that I truly care. .

And remember, you’re the closet thing to motherhood that I have ever known
You see I couldn’t love you any more, if you were my very own.

My gosh my heart bleeds for you dearest Michelle. I am lucky and blessed God has given me four lovely children and I just couldn't picture my life without them. I'm so sorry for your pain and for the way your nephew treats you. I'm so sorry I also don't have the right words to comfort your pained heart.
My heart, thoughts & prayers are with
you. Chin up dear earthly angel~
much love, hugs n prayers,
dreamer
