SadPoetry

So cold was the soft winter night that day,
as the sunlit shadows slowly melted away,
twas last before the ship would arrive,
two lovers together, would now be deprived.
He left with sad tears, as the snow did fall,
with winters last kiss, and winds last call.
"I will return" were his words last spoken,
to a lonely heart, now sad and broken.
And she waited for him, till the morning come.
The days passed by, with the rising sun,
she waited every night, watched the darkness beckon.
She watched at the dock, where they last kissed goodbye,
waiting for her lover, with a soft gentle cry.
And she waited for him, till the morning come.
She waited for years, not moved from that spot,
she watched for the ship, sad and distraught,
remembering his words, last uttered in vain,
"i will return" bringing memory's of pain.
And she waited for him, till the morning come.
Some say she still sits, with sad hope in her eyes,
at the dock many can still hear her sad cries,
her love like a knot, that cannot be untied,
she waits for her lover, with one last goodbye.
And she waited for him, till the morning come.

You have a gift, my friend. A gift that was given to you to use and show the world. If I never read a poem book one day with your poems in there, I will sue you for not publishing all of your poems. If I find out you did publish a poem, and it was denied, I will sue the entire world for being jealous of your talent. |
