Washed Away At Sea

Contributed by xXdeadXpoetXx on Saturday, 17th March 2007 @ 02:18:40 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

he stands at the edge
what will mommy and daddy say now?
mommy will be in the corner
her arms and legs scarred
daddy will be behind him
armed with a threat and ready
he stares at this toes
the sunshine against the water
like a million diamonds
what will the teachers say?
great attempt, he can't do anything
he looks into the sky
clouds like puffs of cotton
he stares at his heart
it's on the bridge and bleeding
yet still feeling faintly attached
the boys at school
he can show them how well
he has ripped it out
what a skill
he looks beyond the water's edge
if only he could look beyond himself
the grass one hundred shades of green
and glimmering in the sunlight
he hears the sirens
the air tickles his bare spine
glancing again at his feet
he licks his swollen gums and jumps
daddy will be so happy
maybe mommy will leave him
if only in a state of depression
maybe mommy will take his same path
they can all focus on the baby now
no need for other thoughts
wind whips his shaggy hair
so ebony against the sunshine
the water turns so blue as he falls
he feels weightless
it could be he hasn't eaten in weeks
it could be the wind
he's so close now
the sirens beat at his ear drums
he feels the salt spray on his face
he closes his green eyes
in he falls
he can hear mommy screaming
he's never heard her scream like that
daddy has, but nobody's supposed to know
the water is lukewarm
his skin tingles
he wants to open his eyes so badly
and to see the sun reflect on the waves
from deep within the water
his lungs cry for help
his body floats alone
two seperate parts
longing for different states
unclenches his fists
the water licks his hands
he falls into death
his face wears a calm smile
now there are no worries
now there is nothing of him

they cannot claim his body
they cannot even find it
not in an ocean that deep
his shoes were on the bridge
are now in the trash
that's all he was anyway
garbage
but that's all over now
washed away at sea
