She never asked to have it out of her reach
She could feel it graze her fingertips
And brush her lips
Whenever the sea heaved you to shore
She knows the hatred she feels isn’t right
Though she’s grounded and stripped of flight
She can feel a blood lust rising
Avian, they’re advancing
Immerging and Imploding
Through the atmosphere
They stole it away
As she held it tight in her hand
A red concoction she could never drink
In a bottle she couldn’t shatter
A story like this is never too old to matter
But the sea still pushed you to shore
So she longs for the silence
To be filled by the empty glass
But even as the years pass
She still only hears the beating of wings
Avian, they’re evading
Converging and Crashing
Through the atmosphere
They stole it away
As she held it tight in her hand
