Face to face

Contributed by evolon on Thursday, 15th March 2007 @ 11:50:22 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

As the days draw closer
Confronted with the danger of seeing you
I begin to subconsciously, reevaluate or closure
And this past year of what I went threw

Time has made me stronger
Thoughts of you makes me weak
Watching the tic toc of the clock
Only six days left till we meet

I try not to think of you
Out of sight out of mind,… doesn’t work
Nostalgic, memories of the smiles we have shared
Accompanied by the hurt

I never loved the way I love you
Maybe I will never feel that way again
Well I can only hope; but right now I’m not ready too

At a distance I may appear strong with my heart
Cautious of this face to face and I fall apart

Three days later and I’m still holding my breath
Closer till the time, my hands start to sweat
My heart beats in my throat
Shallow and vacant my chest
For me to see you and you are doing well
Happy and confident, is closure at its best
Just to say "I will always be here if you need me"
Realizing how love has changed and my feelings are not repressed

Forty eight hours until I see your sight
God must have known I wasn’t ready
Thank you for rescheduling that night

Although in my mind pondering cancellation too
Not just the fear, it’s the tears
That come along with seeing you

So now as time matures
Wipe my brow, exhale my held breath
When last we met the relationship reached demise
I became intimate with thoughts of my own death

Moved past that now
I can honestly say I’m over you
Well maybe for the most part
The beauty of what time can do
So many obstacles we faced
The trial and tribulations we went threw
Coaching myself to say NO
If you offer something new
We meet only to be friends
I still have love
I’m just not in love with you.

Respect me as a friend

nicely done... love is a tricky thing and the hurt that can come with it is always waiting around the corner... keep your head high and don't let it get to you

Let me start off by saying i must admit this poem is very well written. I can see how you feel and fear plays a big part. But a year later i'm still cryn my heart out to ya and my feelings ever so strong for you. If i can only have you as a friend than i'd rather that than not have you in my life at all. I'm not letting go or moving on unless its with you so be a man suck up your fears. I'm waiting!! Love ya my sexy Love. Muah
