Pollination

Contributed by Dom on Tuesday, 13th March 2007 @ 12:10:51 PM in AEST
Topic: MiscPoems

At the edge of the world
Where syllables congeal into syrup;
Sweet and golden in the sunlight,
Crystalline almost under the magnifying glass.
A rich nectar drunk by hummingbirds,
Pollinated by bees.
Brushed out from inside the flower’s
Glass-glossy amaranthine petals.
Unlimited potential bursting out,
Built up through the earth, roots, stem.
Word-pollen wafting,
Breaking down,
And down
Again.
Everyday scattering our meadows,
Sowing beads of honey in our mouths.

I like the link you made with pollination and the spread of language. Also, the bee shape of the poem is pretty cool too. Keep up the good work!

Elegant and delightful. A feast for poets especially those who wish to savor and linger over with after dinner drinks till wee in the morn. The beauty of your pen to capture this:
"...Everyday scattering our meadows,
Sowing beads of honey in our mouths."

Bravo

Peace
Yang

Oh my, Dom .. this IS beautiful! Truly breathtaking ..

makes me long for those dreamy and warm days of summer .. lost
in the folds of a sunny day. Incredible imagery here. And what
an INCREDIBLE metaphor. Exceptionally done, my friend.

Metaphorically magical piece.
Gives life to words and language that seals a simple word for all time. A living breathing meaning no longer just words. Love it.
