Waves Of You

Contributed by moldwarp on Monday, 12th March 2007 @ 09:40:09 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

i love the sea, and it loves me
sometimes

yesterday you did me good
your waters cool, your waves so boisterous but careful
burying my little toes in your skin
when my dress got wet i twirled in your body

you watched me dance and loved me
and everything under the sun

i came back next day, freckled shoulders
with yesterday's sand in my teeth
gritting them as i grinned

"It's So Nice To See You Again!"

i spun and i skipped
but my feet
could not get wet

your arms were so far from this shore
"I Simply Do Not Love You Anymore My Beautiful Girl
Try Loving A Lake Or A River Because Water Is Water
Chances Are They'll Have More To Offer"

i nodded and kissed your skin

"I'll Let You Know Girl, If I Can Love You Again"

so i ventured away, doing as i was told
weeks
months
go by

ponds i found too shallow
lakes have no humor
rivers were rough on my body
but i assume i deserve no better

for ages that stupid river babbled
never stopping to see me smile
never resting never loving

he spoke of the banks
and the canals
and the fish
and the falls

i sat on his rocks and played
with my wrinkled toes
so then he pushed me off!!
and roared!

"What Is That AWFUL Smell? Surely It Can't Be Me!"
i gripped my dress and strained my lungs
to smell..
you
calling
me
"It's Not You, Ornery River, But The Sea"

I really enjoyed reading this piece. A delightful story to distract me from reality...thx for sharing.
