Ambivalency

Topic: EmotionalPoetry

My former lighthouse, guide me through
Will I get over this
The way you said that people do
Through bitter emptiness

Or am I stuck, for I’ve become
Addicted to your presence
Immune to every word you say
Intoxicated by your essence

You’re the air I breathe, the touch I feel,
The taste I know so well,
The image I see, the words I voice
The flowers that I smell

The pain I feel, the scars I see
My thoughts throughout the day
The piercing feeling in my heart
The things I cannot say

It didn’t used to hurt like this
I used to be OK
It seems that every Today
Is worse than yesterday

I’m in a bind, but it’s all on me
I did this to myself
I left me open for all to see
And what I got wasn’t help

I’m torn you see, for what to say
I’m headed for the coast
You’re ready now, is what you say
But twas yesterday I needed you most

Virulent to trusting now
I don’t know what to do
For everything that I attempt
Won’t bring me closer to you.

This was well written and well expressed. I liked this poem and I can relate to this in a way. I like the the last two stanza's the most but I like the whole poem as well. Very well expressed.

Take care
