The coliseum.

Walking the side of the road
Like a dog
In the doorway of my dreams
She called the phone
A dying river
Closing the bridge
Of our bodies
As we twisted and fidgeted
In our sleep
With her
I was always alone
Upon the hour of her dismissal
Henceforward passing dreams away
I held the rivers of her back
Stripped the sheaths of stars
From her lips
Drove deep through the tears
Of my eyes
And Prayed
For another chance
To smile
It is never easy
Or proper
The way we mold
Our lives

A good piece. The last verse sums it all up. |
