Whats her name

Topic: drugabuse

Baby you loved so intensely, in your eyes it shown
I always wanted one like you, to call my very own
That obsession you had was like none I'd ever seen
I held on so tight yet I still lost everything

I wanted to be your poison, but you were already sick
I was so inlove with you, and you were so inlove with it
I tried every day to make you happy, knowing you couldn't feel
Then I'd just get mad at myself, convinced the love was real

You lusted, you burned, I loved the fire in your eyes
I love the feeling that you gave me, those butterflies
You would talk for hours and I would hold you and listen
So young and so lost, we both had one mission

We had so much passion, each for only one thing
But our wants were different, though the need was the same
You filled me in places I'd been empty my whole life
And I guess you felt the same about the love of your life

Could I turn it around? For a while I thought yes
I was only 17, naive and foolish
but I began to understand as things just got worse
I was running outta places to bury my hurt

We both lost our battle, though we tried very hard
Now we lay bleeding and both torn apart
It was hard for me then to understand why
All I could do was hold your hand and cry

See I tried and I tried
to be more than a friend
but your heart I couldn't win
It already belonged to another, her name was heroin

Very well done. Sad when addictions take us away from those we love and we are so powerless...sad indeed. Thanks
