Cold metal clasped in rosy hands,
A gleeful giggle accompanying the sound
Of whooshing air, catching and swirling strands of blonde hair
As size three feet fly into the blue, attempting
To touch the clouds and capture the soft wisps,
Reaching out to brush against the highest tree branch,
That just barely grazes the sky’s infinite roof.

I still can't go by a park with a swing and not jump on for a ride.....at my age it can be dangerous to my health...lol This is a fine write. |

Woosh and I'm transported back to an innocent time...this was one of my favorite of all things to do as a child. Delightful...what a gentle and true expression to share with us...
Many thanks.

I too as a young kid lived in a city near a park and the feeling of flight and glee was unmatched by any other device. To this extent the last line reminds me of a title of an original Star Trek episode
"For the Earth is Hollow and I have Touched the Sky"
Well Done
Peace

This poem is lovely, it took me right back to when I had a swing in my garden as a child and I would spend so much time on it in the summer staring up at the sky. I loved this poem!
