Life in the Shadows

Once good, now bad,
Then happy, now sad.
Once love, now hate,
Then it was fixable,
Now it's too late.
Pain in place of peace,
Pressure instead of relief.
Pride shattered,
Innocence battered.
Hatred takes over the soul,
Kills so much,
No longer whole.
Death is only a step away,
Shallowly missing, lives another day.
Walking among the ordinary,
Takes away the breath,
Trying to fit in,
Will surely bring death.
So hide away another way,
Just to live another day.

Life is all about timing isn't it. When things take place and the where and how. I like the strong contrasts, the light and dark of it all.
We must have one to reconize the other. If my feelings took me here I would have to ask what is my lesson in this saddest of places. How can these feelings serve me. Thank you for this reminder.

Everything we go through in life shapes the person we eventually turn out to be. Both the good and the bad. The good thing is, we can always change our circumstances (somewhat) as long as we have one more day. I wish you much happiness. Well written!
