Hate

Topic: EmotionalPoetry

I want to hate you,
So I won't feel the pain.
Being faced with the fact
Of walking down this road again.

I can't forgive you,
And I'll never trust a man.
Something instilled in me young,
Thanks to my father's hand.

And thanks for proving,
My inner most thoughts,
That I'm unlovable.
Viscious cycle to be caught.

Tried to break the cycle,
Remained loyal, by your side.
But it was just a joke.
Just me swallowing my pride.

Because you never loved
Me or my son.
Just a game to you
And none of us have won.

I'd much rather hate you
Than give you my tears.
For you had them far too long,
And you've proven my fears.

So I'll let the cold come in
And fill my weeping heart.
Ice will fill the cracks.
It will be a new start.

Perhaps I'll find my way
On this solitary path.
It must lead somewhere,
Somewhere away from the past.

Anywhere is better,
Better than your bed of lies.
Do I remain in your conscience?
What you did makes me despise.

You kicked me while I was down,
While I was physically sick.
And for that I hate you,
Even if only a little bit.

Wonderful work! Sena, while this piece displays a powerful inner strength of personal integrity, I fear the person of your poem may experience damage in the real perfect relationship (when it comes) with the thought, "And I'll never trust a man." I hope the person of your poem forgives but never forgets and doesn't let the unforgettable continue to win throughout that person of your poem's life.
A truly powerful and intimate piece of work.
