A weed, a solitary weed, stood by the rosebush in the warm, Summer sunshine.
"Why am I considered a pest and you not?", questioned the weed.
"I am beautiful", replied the rosebush.
"But you have thorns that prick the elderly and rip the childrens' clothes. I gently blow in the breeze, minding my own business, yet I am still a pest?"
Once again, the rosebush replied, "I am beautiful"
"I love children, you can not stand them. Still, they admire you and stop to smell your delicate flowers," continued the weed, "and I the weed, the harmless weed, gets trodden on or ripped out of the soft, moist ground and thrown away."
"That is because, my friend", concluded the rosebush, "I am beautiful and you are not."

From one "weed" to another, don't forget... many wildflowers are considered "weeds" ;)
I liked this one, I agree ... a strong message here. |

Dear CowgirlKid, I just love this. I've often thought similar thoughts about the shallowness of 'beauty'. You are so profound!
