Made to dance in the palm~
of a loosely balled fist
Where lady lucks sweet breath blew~
in want of fates assist...
Fortunes own shining duo~
polished to entice
Young fiends from their innocents~
to pay the pipers price...
At last with the flick of a wrist~
& the out folding of fingers
Chances self is given to flight~
in which no caution lingers...
Once down touch the tumbling pair~
allowing no look back
Destiny settles into place~
before the bets upon her stacked...

This piece evoked "Alea iacta est."
Before madness sets in as an insider's credo: If they're not throwing you out, you're doing something wrong.
And here in lies perhaps the pieces intent making its case for destiny's behalf that some should never wager at all.

Makes me wanna head straight to Vegas, which, incidently, is my dog's name : )
I'm sure most of us know (and have experienced) gambling's haunting tune that lulls one in... but who knew it could also be poetic when penned by a talented Miss?!?
Thanks for the read : )

Excellent. I think we have all experienced the pull of that power...that one chance that we could win. Very powerful draw lady luck can have on us. A fantastic piece. |

Like many other vices it can be so easy to always say "just once more and I'll get lucky...". The trick is knowing when to stop or it can be a downwards spiral.
Great write, you really got inside your friend's mind for this one!
Take care,
Dmo |
