What you gave me in return for my love

Contributed by -why_not_let_me_live- on Tuesday, 6th March 2007 @ 05:29:54 AM in AEST
Topic: LoveRemembered

When I first met you, you took my breath away,
I was so happy I agreed to go out partying that day,
We exchanged numbers and I thought I hope he calls,
And ever since then I had been bouncing off the walls,

Everything was great to begin with i thought you were to good to be true,
I was counting my blessings I couldnt believe it was me with you,
Everytime I saw you, you lighted up my life,
Eventually I thought to myself we will be man and wife,

But then it all went wrong you changed considerably,
You werent the person I knew before the one who woo'd me so charmingly,
You just changed so quickly in such a short amount of time,
It was the begining of the end a hill I had to climb,

Its like to you I wasnt a person anymore just a mere object,
And I didnt deserve any of your love or your respect,
And you know what I did I started to believe it to,
I believed it was my fault I deserved everything you put me through,

But now I know I was wrong it wasnt my fault at all,
And I deserve better then you and the tears that you made fall,
The hard thing is finding it and learning to trust again,
Because you took that away from me only giving me heartache and pain,

Sorry for your saddness...Try this. Make yourself a Man Mobile and hang it over your bed. Combine a combination of all the wonderful characteristic on one side (what ever YOU love like laughter, playfulness or gentleness...whatever it is and on the other side pictures of that reassuring smile, the strong yet gentle hand, that yummy body, again whatever it is in a real man that YOU want and desire. And as it spins above your head resign yourself to the glorious truth...that we might not always get what we want but we always get what we call forth...Now don't throw rocks in your room but wave occationally at your perfect man...Ask, smile and wait and only put your attention where your intention is... Oh and always give Thanks.

I can relate to this. Thinking that I deserveed everything from my ex and thinking that I was the one who made the mistake and I just ended up so depressed and hating myself and thinking that I was the biggest mistake in the whole world and then I realized that it wasn't me. This was sad and I am glad that you realized that this wasn't your fault. Truthful and deep. Great poem.

Take care
