People of Character

Contributed by LadyDama on Monday, 24th February 2003 @ 08:20:00 PM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

Distorted images fill my head
of grotesque, deformed Life
At first glance
Seemed so odd
They looked like rejects of pain
I saw grooves of sadness
in tattered egos
But,
then I listened
Sounds emerged from their disfigured heads
Talk of beautiful lands,
foreign and erotic aromas
And,
(most of all)
Love of the soul
"Character, my boy"
is what one said
"Character is what counts,
appearance~no matter."
At second glance
(seemed so odd)
They were angels of happiness
I saw grooves of content
in joyous hearts
And,
listening once more
Joined them.

Interesting write...I especially liked this line-->
"Character is what counts,
appearance~no matter."
